The pupils from The Academy International School have been helping to raise funds for Support Charley.
In November, at the Bonfire day, there were collection tins at the stalls for Charley.
In December they held a non uniform day and raised 150 Euros which helped towards the expenses
of Charley´s last visit to G.O..S.H.
The next issue of the school magazine will raise funds for charity.
The School has once again offered to “Support Charley”.
Thank you all so much.
The ongoing fundraising helps to make Charley´s life so much better.

The prices are, VIP:75.00€/37.50€ which includes wine, beer, soft drinks and the after show party.

Normal: 50.00€/25.00€ which includes wine, beer, soft drinks. The aftershow party is 25.00€ extra with this ticket.

Note there is no food on this night.

The Viva Roadrunners run the Half Marathon for Charley

viva roadrunners and Charley

Saturday 17th of March was the 20th Palma Half Marathon and the Viva Roadrunners were running to raise money for Charley Ray Myers.

It was very hot and what an amazing achievement for the Roadrunners and Debbie who came in around 2 hours and 11 minutes.

Charley, who is being treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and Son Espases here in Mallorca, has a cochlear implant to enable him to hear. Just before Christmas he lost the external part of the device which cost 9625 Euros to replace. Thanks to the support of many people we have managed to raise the money. Sponsors of the Viva Roadrunners were PINMAR, Monarch Airlines, Prosperity Real Estate, Universal Nautic , Webbs Removals and of course Viva Sports.

Support Charley and Debbie, Charley´s Mum, would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has made it possible for Charley to hear again.

Hi All of you amazing people

Here is an update on where we are with Support Charley and the fundraising for his hearing device.

The ”spinathon” which was in Illes gym Calvia just over 2 weeks ago, has raised 2660€ .

What a fantastic event and what a success for Support Charley.

Massive thank you to everyone who took part and especially to Emma, Leon and Hur and his team at Illes.

We have also have sponsorship from PINMAR and WEBBS Removals, MONARCH, VIVA SPORTS, PROSPERITY REAL ESTATE & UNIVERSAL NAUTIC for the Debbie and the Viva Roadrunners to run the half marathon next Sunday.

Donations have been added from so many people, some have donated money from things that they have sold, work they have done, loose change that they have had, all sorts of things.

The other news is that Steve Bicknell from Insurance Express in Palmanova has managed to get us INSURANCE!!!!!!!

This is amazing as we have been unable to get any company to even look at the possibility so I know for sure that he has worked very hard to get this far.

He has also offered to pay the premium for the device cover as a donation so all in all he is a star to like so many of you.

Carolyn from the Snooker Cafe in El Toro has also made a special pouch for Charley´s device to help keep it attached to him……thank you Carolyn.

Charley has his next visit to Great Ormond Street at the end of April and we are sure that they will be delighted with his progress as he is doing so well.

As you all know the fundraising is an ongoing thing to help with the expenses for G.O.S.H. and we will keep you posted with regular updates.

Palma Half Marathon & the Viva Roadrunners run for Charley!!!!

20th Palma Half Marathon

The Viva Roadrunners, who are trained by Dave Bladon from Viva Sports in Son Caliu, will run in the 20th Palma half marathon on Sunday 18th March 2012, in aid of Support Charley.

Debbie, Charley´s Mum is overwhelmed by the support she is receiving following the loss of his external hearing device just before Christmas. The cost to replace the device is almost 10 000 Euros and we are very near to the target.

PINMAR, UNIVERSAL NAUTIC, WEBBS REMOVALS, MONARCH AIRLINES, PROSPERITY REAL ESTATE and VIVA SPORTS are all sponsoring Debbie to run the half marathon and get to our target.

The run starts at 10 am on Sunday just accross from Palma Cathedral. If you are able please come along and support these guys.

There have been many times on this Island when peoples generosity has amazed us all and February 29th 2012 will stand out as one of those times. Some of the businesses in Calvia decided to donate some or all of their takings to Support Charley. The idea was first broached by Vicki MacLeod, as she does, and it was taken up willingly. As well as the businesses being supportive, the clientele were too.

The British Bakery, in Portals Village, made special Support Charley cupcakes and all money from sales went to the fund.

Kerry from Kutz Salon in Magalluf was busy cutting and blow drying all day to raise money for Charley, and

Bodhana Wellness Centre in Puerto Portals were offering mini sessions of massage, reiki and reflexology as well as donating the space for practitioners to use free of charge when fundraising for Charley.

Support Charley Spinathion

Just to give you all an update on where we are with raising funds for Charley s hearing device and trying to get a second-hand or cheaper device.. Charley was given a new device on loan from the European branch of cochlear and three weeks to pay the 9000 Euros that it cost. it had to be set up for him by a specialist, and this was done on Friday,17th February . We have so far paid 500 Euros toward the cost and to be fair they are not screaming at us for te balance, YET. We have raised 1750 Euros to date so we still have a long way to go. There is a spinathon on the 25th February at the Illes gym in Calvia and the response for that has been amazing. If anyone else out there can help in any way please let us know. Charley will benefit so much from being able to hear and he is at the best age to get the maximum benefit right NOW!!!!

Please go along and have a hair cut, blow dry or whatever and / or a massage or acupuncture session and help Charley at the same time.
